We’ve got some exciting news from the Pirate’s Grog crew - our Toasted Coconut Rum has officially been awarded a Great Taste 2026 Double Gold Star Award.And while we’ve been lucky enough to collect a few awards over the years, it never gets old seeing another bottle join the gold star club. Every award is a reminder that the time, care, and passion that goes into creating our rums is appreciated - especially when it’s for a bottle we already knew was something special.

A COCONUT RUM MADE TO STAND OUT

When we launched Pirate’s Grog Toasted Coconut Rum, we wanted to create something a little different.

Coconut rum has a reputation for being sweet and simple, often used as just a cocktail ingredient. We wanted to challenge that idea and create a spirit with real character - something that could be enjoyed in its own right.

Using our smooth premium rum as the foundation, we created a rich, warming expression with the flavour of toasted coconut running through every sip. The result is a beautifully balanced rum with tropical character, but with enough depth and smoothness to enjoy neat, over ice, or mixed into your favourite cocktail.

Since launching, it has quickly become one of our most-loved bottles and every time we produce a new batch, it seems to fly out. Seeing people come back for another bottle, recommend it to friends, and share their favourite ways to enjoy it has been incredible.

RECOGNISED BY THE GREAT TASTE AWARDS

The Great Taste Awards are one of the most respected food and drink accreditation schemes in the world, celebrating products that deliver exceptional flavour and quality.

Each product is judged blind by an expert panel, meaning the only thing that matters is what’s inside the bottle. Packaging, branding, and reputation are removed from the process — leaving the flavour to do the talking.

More than 15,000 products were entered into the 2026 awards, with only around 1,500 receiving a Double Gold Star Award. That’s across all food and drink categories, which makes it a huge achievement for any product and means only a very small number of rums earn this level of recognition.

To have our Toasted Coconut Rum recognised in this way is something we’re incredibly proud of.

INTRODUCING… THE DOUBLE GOLD COLADA

A celebration cocktail for an award-winning rum.

You’ll Need

• 50ml Pirate’s Grog Toasted Coconut Rum

• 75ml pineapple juice

• 25ml coconut cream

• 15ml fresh lime juice

• Ice

To Garnish

• Toasted coconut flakes

• Pineapple wedge

• How to make it:

• Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

• Add the Toasted Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and fresh lime juice.

• Shake well until chilled and smooth.

• Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.

• Garnish with toasted coconut flakes and a pineapple wedge
